On June 13, 2025, an evaluation of the interim progress of EDIH Zagore, covering the results of the Hub’s activities so far, was held in the complex of IICT, BAS. The detailed report on the implemented activities, the key achievements and the contribution to the digital transformation in the region was presented in front of a committee composed of Michaela Lafont, an expert from Digital Europe, as well as two independent European experts in the field of digitalization.
The review shared an analysis of services delivered to SMEs and public organisations. Business representatives who have benefited from the Hub’s services highlighted the opportunity for easy and fast communication, and gave examples of successful pilot activities, product testing, and highly specialized training.
Among the achievements so far are more than 20 organizations from different businesses and the public sector served, as well as the organization of practical trainings and workshops on topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital sustainability. ECIC Zagore has advocated for its active role in building a regional innovation ecosystem that connects local SMEs, startups, academia and administration. Some of the projects currently being worked on were presented – facial recognition software for bears, precise chatbot integration for the Stara Zagora Municipality website, as well as a focus on hydrogen technologies and the possibility of conducting real tests with specialized equipment.
