SynGReDiT

The project SynGReDiT – Synergy for Green Regional Digital Transformation of the South-Eastern region of Bulgaria of Bulgaria is an initiative of EDIH Zagore and covers the Southeast Region (SER), NUTS II of Bulgaria, consisting of 4 NUTS III regions – Burgas, Sliven, Stara Zagora and Yambol. EDIH Zagore brings under one roof and coordinates services between all actors: digital transformation service users, partners, subcontractors; managing and controlling the related value streams; focusing on the core service and grouping all activities for user-centered development; delivering the core values of the ecosystem, etc. All these follow the overall focus and efficiency. For its part, EDIH Zagore provides resources in the form of premises, building technology, hardware/software infrastructure and services through its solid base of members and service providers. Beneficiaries of the services of EDIH Zagore will also be able to initiate additional services according to their current digitalisation and digital business transformation needs.

The main challenge that SynGReDiT aims to address is the overall shift in the long-established industrial traditions and business interdependencies of the Southeast region’s economy towards decarbonization and a dual – green and digital transformation. Among the targets set are the leading sectors – power generation, miscellaneous manufacturing, agriculture, transportation and healthcare. The main objective of the project is also to develop sectors with a smaller share and attract new segments based on industrial symbiosis.

With the SynGReDiT project, we are setting the following goals over the next three years:

  1. To foster industrial and regional SME policies to support business and the public sector in the dual green and digital transformation to slow climate change and restore the environment through a set of 9 regional awareness raising initiatives – Ideation Labs.
  2. Deploying the 3 key areas of digital technology: HPC, DAS and cyber security and their best use for dual green and digital transformation in critical sectors for the regional economy such as energy production and distribution, manufacturing, agriculture, transport and healthcare.
  3. Improve access to innovation ecosystems for regional SMEs, mid-cap small businesses, entrepreneurs, start-ups and public sector and support to find investment through a set of 9 networking events – Ideation Labs and a range of consultancies to accelerate recovery and drive the dual green and digital transformation of the economy.
  4. Improve access to all key areas of HPC, DAS, AI and Cyber Security through collaboration with the EU EDIH network over the next 3 years by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with at least 20 EDIHs, sharing services and exchanging 7% of customers.
