The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) Zagore successfully held its first digital event – the webinar Digital Café Vol. 1: Financing Innovation and Digitalization. The purpose of the online meeting was to present the grant opportunities under the first open funding application procedure of the Hub – the SynGReDiT – Synergy for Green Regional Digital Transformation of the Southeast region.
The event brought together representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, the public sector, start-ups and others interested in digitalization and innovation.
The lecturers were the Executive Director of REDA – Stara Zagora and Coordinating Manager of EDIH Zagore Dr. Rumyana Grozeva and Hristina Kasparyan – Director of the International Economic Cooperation Department at the Bulgarian Industrial Association.
Dr. Grozeva presented the Hub’s activities, goals and partners and told more about each of the four services offered free of charge by the SynGReDiT project – pre-investment testing, digital skills training, support for finding investments and networking, and access to innovation ecosystems.
“We have focused our service delivery on the South East region, but we cover the whole country territorially. Moreover, in the project objectives we have also included working with the entire network of hubs and exchanging customers with them. Our main task is to support businesses and the public sector in their digital transformation, which will have its positive impact on our surroundings,” she said.
Christina Kasparian added details about the different services, focusing on the importance and role of one of them – digital maturity assessment. “The service gives an insight into the digital maturity level of the business. Usually there are things that companies miss as their focus is more on the development of the business itself. The digital maturity assessment tool is not only a must-have for application but also a very useful activity because it helps companies to have an overall picture of the current state, opportunities for improvement, etc.,” she said.
The event attracted a wide audience, including representatives of micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as entrepreneurs and start-ups with innovative ideas.
Participants in the webinar had the opportunity to ask their questions directly to the experts, while receiving guidance on how to successfully apply and use the services provided.
