EDIH Zagore expands clean technology testing capabilities thanks to the newly installed Complex Hydrogen Production and Storage Test System at CIES, implemented under the SynGReDiT project.
What does Test before Invest stands for?
With “Test before invest” you turn your bold idea into a real hydrogen prototype – quickly, safely and without unnecessary capital risk. Instead of dry simulations, you’ll be working on an industrial platform unique to the Southeast: a green electrolyzer, a high-pressure hydrogen farm and a high-efficiency PEM fuel cell integrated into a single Power-to-X-to-Power cycle.
Alongside you is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists and business strategists who translate technical data into a compelling market argument.
The first step – Complex system New Energy Lab
Within the package you have the New Energy Lab by Heliocentris, including more than 30 experiments on the following topics: solar energy (S01-S06), wind energy (W01-W03), hydrogen generator (E01), fuel cells (F01-F02), metal hydride storage (F04), energy management (EM01-EM04) and batteries (B01-B03).
The complex test system for testing and investigating different configurations for the production and storage of renewable energy in batteries and/or through the hydrogen cycle combines:
- Green H₂ electrolyzer;
- Buffer system and farm for safe storage;
- Hydrogen → electricity reverse conversion fuel cell;
- Battery module for hybrid cycle and load smoothing;
- Measurement laboratory with full SCADA/IoT monitoring.
This modular suite allows companies to simulate and optimize a complete cycle, including grid balance and micro- and offgrid system scenarios. Data is collected in real time, shortening time to analysis and market readiness.
