On 15 July 2025, EDIH Zagore officially opened its third call for proposals for the provision of grant services to small and medium-sized enterprises and public institutions. The theme of this call is focusing on clean technologies and opportunities for the application of hydrogen solutions in business and public sector.
The event was held online via the Zoom platform and brought together representatives from business, the education sector, local authorities and energy transition experts. It was divided into two main parts:
Particular emphasis was placed on the “Test before invest” service, which allows companies and institutions to simulate, analyse and test real solutions before making significant investments – especially in the context of the transition to green energy and hydrogen technologies.
What does EDIH Zagore offer?
In the first part, Dr. Rumyana Grozeva, Executive Director of the Regional Economic Development Agency – Stara Zagora, presented the main areas in which EDIH Zagore supports organizations – training, access to testing infrastructure, expert mentoring and referral to funding. She stressed that the services are free of charge for the beneficiaries, and the application procedure was demonstrated live in a few clicks through the Services section of the EDIH website.
Comprehensive clean technology and hydrogen testing system
In the second part, Eng. Tanyo Tanev and Eng. Blagovesta Shineva from the CES team presented the hydrogen training and demonstration laboratory New Energy Lab of Heliocentris, which can be used by the applicants. The participants had the opportunity to learn how the equipment allows real measurements and simulations of:
hydrogen production through electrolyze
efficiency of the fuel cells
energy storing in metal hydride storage
energy management and behaviour in case of grid power failure,
as well as different configurations of solar and wind sources in an integrated system.
All attendees were encouraged to express interest in conducting an experiment, simulation or demonstration as part of the service. Support also included expert data analysis and recommendations for deployment and scaling opportunities.
The services of EDIH Zagore are aimed at SMEs, municipalities, educational and scientific institutions interested in:
implementation of innovative and environmentally friendly technologies;
Energy efficiency and decarbonisation;
development of new hydrogen products, processes or training.
The application is open – the conditions and forms are available on the Third open application procedure for the SynGReDiT project – EDIH Zagore
